> Stillhouse photographs every necklace, ring and earring in your range in one set, lit by that set rather than by a studio softbox. Each frame is checked against your product photo before you see it, so the chain, the stone and the clasp are the ones you sell.

## Photographing jewelry

Jewelry is small, reflective and exact. A pendant is a few centimetres across, a chain link is a millimetre, and a customer decides whether a piece is worth the price by looking at the stone and the setting. There is very little room for an image tool to be approximately right.

Most jewelry is also sold in ranges: one pendant in three metals, one ring in six sizes, one chain in four lengths. The pictures have to match across the range, or the product page looks like three different shops. That is the job a shared set does well.

## Common photo problems

- **Metal reads as the wrong metal.** Gold, rose gold and silver depend on what they reflect. A piece lit by a white box and pasted onto a warm background looks flat and grey. Lit by the set, the metal picks up the colour of the room.
- **Chains and clasps get redrawn.** A generator that invents detail will smooth a chain into a rope or change the clasp. Your clasp is a selling point and a return risk if it differs from the picture.
- **Stones lose their cut.** Facets are small and specular. A stone redrawn from memory looks like glass. The frame has to keep the stone from your photo.
- **Scale is guessed.** A 40 cm chain and a 60 cm chain look the same on a plinth. Customers need to see where the piece falls on a neck or a hand.

## What the studio does about it

- **Lit by the set.** The piece is relit by the light in your room, so a highlight on a pendant falls where the window is.
- **Detail restored from your photo.** After the frame is made, the product's own detail is restored from the photo you uploaded. A sharp macro of the piece gives a sharp clasp.
- **Colourways from one frame.** Approve the gold pendant, then reshoot it in silver and rose gold. The composition and light stay the same, and each metal is checked against its own photo.

## The shot list for jewelry

- Hero of the piece on a surface in the set
- Close-up of the stone, setting or clasp
- Worn on a neck, wrist or hand, using a model you cast once
- Scale: the piece beside a coin, a hand or a collarbone
- Flat lay of a stack or a set of pieces together
- Square and 4:5 cuts for posts, and a 9:16 for stories

## Questions

### Will the stone and the clasp match my piece?

The studio checks every frame against your product photo and restores the product's detail from it. It can only bring back what your photo shows, so a sharp close-up of the piece gives the best result. A take where the piece drifted is thrown away and retaken, and anything still doubtful arrives flagged.

### Can I show a necklace being worn?

Yes. Cast an AI model once, or build one from photographs of a real person who has consented, and the same person wears every piece. Close crops of a neckline or a hand are the frames that need the most care, so check them before you publish.

### Can one frame become every metal and length?

Reshoot an approved frame in each colourway you sell. The set and pose stay put and only the piece changes. Each version is checked against its own photo.
