AI product photography for handbag brands

Updated ยท Stillhouse

The short answer

Stillhouse photographs every bag in your range in one set, on a model you cast once, with the leather, the hardware and the shape checked against your own photo. A bag shown on a shoulder, a table and a plinth is still the same bag in every frame.

Photographing handbags

A handbag is sold on three things: how the leather looks, how the bag hangs and how big it is. A plinth shot gives the first. The other two need a person or a reference.

Bags also have many parts that can drift: the strap length, the position of the clasp, the shape of the flap. A customer who sees one shape and receives another sends the bag back.

Common photo problems

  • 01

    Leather loses its grain

Pebbled, smooth and patent leather each catch light differently. A generator tends to flatten all three to the same sheen.

  • 02

    Hardware changes

Buckles, zips and clasps are small and metallic. They are easy to redraw as a different shape.

  • 03

The bag is the wrong size

Without a person or an object beside it, a bag has no scale. Customers want to know whether it holds a laptop.

  • 04

A bag has to hang correctly

A strap over a shoulder or a handle on an arm has to sit as it would in life, with the right drop and fold.

What the studio does about it

  • Product checked against your photo. Each frame is compared with the photo you uploaded for shape, hardware and colour. A take where the bag drifted is retaken.
  • One model, every bag. Cast a model once and the same person carries each bag, so the range reads as one brand.
  • Colourways from one frame. Approve the tan bag, then reshoot it in black and olive. Each is checked against its own photo.

  • Scale, with a few everyday objects beside it
  • Square, 4:5 and 9:16 cuts for posts and stories

Questions

Will the hardware and stitching match my bag?

Each frame is checked against your product photo, and takes where the shape or hardware drifted are retaken. Close details depend on what your photo shows, so include a sharp one.

Can the bag be shown on a person?

Yes. Cast an AI model once, or build one from photographs of a real person who has consented. The same person carries every bag.

Can I show the inside of the bag?

If you upload a photo of the inside, the studio can photograph it as a frame. It cannot invent an interior it has not seen.
