AI product photography for supplement brands

Updated ยท Stillhouse

The short answer

Stillhouse photographs every tub, pouch and bottle in your range in one set, and restores the label from your own product photo so the type stays legible. Amazon main images are built on pure white and checked against the marketplace's rules before you upload them.

Photographing supplements

A supplement label is a document. It carries a flavour, a serving size, a supplement facts panel and a list of claims, and a customer reads it. That is also the part an image tool is most likely to damage.

Supplements are sold across many places at once: your own store, Amazon, a subscription page, an ad catalogue. Each wants a slightly different image, and every one of them has to show the same pack.

Common photo problems

  • 01

    Dense type gets redrawn

The facts panel is small print on a curved surface. Redrawn text looks plausible and reads as nonsense. On a supplement page that is a mismatch with the pack the customer receives.

  • 02

    Flavours multiply

One tub in nine flavours means nine sets of identical photographs. They need to match in angle, light and crop.

  • 03

    Curved and glossy packs reflect

Foil pouches and glossy tubs show the light around them. A pack lit for a white studio looks wrong once it sits on a kitchen counter.

  • 04

    Marketplaces have rules

Amazon wants a main image on pure white with the product filling most of the frame. A lifestyle frame will not pass as a main image.

What the studio does about it

  • Label restored from your photo. The pack's own detail is brought back from the photo you uploaded. It can only restore what the photo shows, so shoot the front straight on.
  • Every flavour from one frame. Approve the vanilla tub, then reshoot it for each flavour. Each is checked against its own pack photo.
  • An Amazon main image on white. The marketplace pack is built on pure white from the product's cutout and checked against Amazon's rules. The Amazon image checker shows what the rules are.

The shot list for supplements

  • Hero of the pack on the set, label forward
  • Pack beside its contents: capsules, powder or a scoop
  • In use: a shaker, a kitchen counter, a gym bag
  • Scale beside a hand or a glass
  • Amazon main image on pure white
  • Square, 4:5 and 9:16 cuts for ads and stories

Questions

Will the supplement facts panel be legible?

It will be as legible as your photo. The studio restores the pack's detail from the photo you upload and checks each frame against it. A sharp, front-on packshot gives legible small print.

Does Stillhouse write health claims?

No. The label and anything printed on it are yours. The studio photographs the pack you give it. What you say about the product on your page is your responsibility.

Can I get Amazon main images?

Yes. The Amazon pack is cut to the marketplace's rules and the main image is built on pure white from the product's cutout. Check it before you upload it, as Amazon makes the final call.
